As the Strategic Accounts & Founder Relations Lead at Basic Capital, you will be responsible for sourcing and closing new logos through direct founder relationships and community-driven engagement, helping to bolster Basic Capital’s reputation amongst the country's fastest growing companies. You’ll own the process end-to-end, from identifying high-potential companies to building trust with leadership teams and converting them into flagship accounts.
We’re looking for a relationship-driven operator with deep roots in the NYC, SF, and MIA startup ecosystem, ready to combine sales hustle with creative, hyperlocal marketing.
About Basic Capital
Basic Capital is a fintech company reinventing America’s $1T retirement industry by building the mortgage for retirement, unlocking market ownership, and making wealth accessible to every American. Our mission is to create products, platforms, and a credit marketplace that power a fundamentally new retirement system.
Our founding team includes leaders from Goldman Sachs, Uber, Block, and Robinhood, and we’re backed by top investors such as Forerunner, Lux, BoxGroup, SVAngel, Inspired Capital, and Henry Kravis.
We’re an in-person team based in SoHo, NYC.
About the Role
As the Strategic Accounts & Founder Relations Lead, your focus will be on closing new logos that elevate Basic Capital’s brand and expand our market presence. Unlike traditional sales roles, this position requires the ability to understand the founder and rapid growth executive community: you’ll not only drive outbound efforts, but also design and activate hyperlocal events, founder meetups, and ecosystem programs that create trust and accelerate pipeline.
You will
Source and close recognizable startup and mid-market logos across key ecosystems
Build and deepen relationships with founders, executives, and community leaders
Have considerable budget to design and execute events, dinners, and hyperlocal activations to engage business owners and decision makers
Partner with marketing to amplify community-driven initiatives and convert them into revenue opportunities
Own the entire sales cycle from outreach to signed agreement, with accountability for logo acquisition goals
Track and report on progress, sharing insights with leadership to shape go-to-market strategy
Travel considerably as required by the role to maximize in-person facetime with executives at key companies we are working to bring onboard to our platform
Qualifications
Deep network and credibility within the NYC, SF, and MIA startup community
Proven experience in a sales, partnerships, or community-building role with measurable outcomes
Aggressive growth mindset: you’re motivated by finding, pursuing, and winning new logos by ideating and executing creative guerilla marketing campaigns
Strong communicator and natural relationship-builder with founders and executives
Comfortable wearing multiple hats: part seller, part community architect, part event operator
Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and energized by operating in a fast-paced startup environment where you’ll be held accountable for an aggressive quarterly goal
Compensation
This role has a base salary range of $150,000–$225,000, with $275,000 OTE and offers equity compensation.
